To better serve our community and provide a more inspiring space, we are thrilled to announce that SASHIKO.LAB will be relocating to a new studio in June 2026
WHEN are you moving?
We are planning to move in June 2026, and we will share updates as details are confirmed.
WHERE will the new location be?
The new atelier will remain in Kyoto, just a short distance from Fushimi Inari Shrine. It is just one train stop from our current atelier, or about a 30-minute walk. Full details and the exact address will be announced closer to the opening.
Will classes continue during the move?
Yes. We plan to continue offering classes as smoothly as possible during the transition. Any temporary schedule changes will be shared in advance.
Will the new space be larger?
Yes. The new atelier will allow us to welcome more participants while maintaining our quiet, small-group atmosphere. On the second floor, we plan to open a gallery where visitors can view our collection of vintage sashiko textiles and learn about the history, stories, and cultural background behind each piece.
What happens to my current booking?
All workshops following our move will take place at the new location. We’ll keep you updated once the relocation date is finalized.
Will the Vintage Sashiko Gallery open at the new location?
Yes. The new space will include the Vintage Sashiko Gallery, scheduled to open in 2026.
How can I stay updated about the move?
We will share updates on our website and Instagram. On this page, we will also share renovation updates — we hope you enjoy following the journey as the new atelier comes to life.
